“One good mother is worth a hundred schoolmasters,” so said English poet and priest George Herbert. And for homeschooled students, their mother is the schoolmaster! Today on Home School Heartbeat, several HSLDA staff members who are homeschool graduates share their expressions of thanks for their mothers.

Mike and Vickie Farris have encouragement for moms in their books The Spiritual Power of a Mother, and A Mom Just Like You. Give the mom in your life some good words to keep pressing on with her good work. Follow the links to order or learn more.

Brady Kauk:
Hi, my name is Brady Kauk, and I work for Generation Joshua. Hi Mommy, I wanted to wish you a happy Mother’s Day. Thank you so much for your tenacity and passion that encouraged me to do things, even when I didn’t want to. I love our big family.

Rachel Parker:
Hi, my name is Rachel Parker and I am a graphic designer here at HSLDA. I appreciate my mom because she’s super supportive. And she is awesome at keeping me grounded, cause I can tend to have tons of crazy ideas—which is good, being a designer. Thanks for loving me throughout all the years. And happy Mother’s Day! I love you, mom.

Darren Jones:
My name is Darren Jones, and I am a staff attorney with Home School Legal Defense Association. There are three things that I think of when I think of Mom. First of all, she’s very organized. She’s a great public speaker. Third, and most importantly, she just surrounds us all with love. I was on the phone with her this morning and was just reminded, even after 20 years of not living at home, she still loves us amazingly.
