All over the world, there are opportunities for reaching out to help people in need and show God’s love. So how do you find them? Join us today on Home School Heartbeat as HSLDA staff member Melissa Green tells host Mike Smith about her experiences in Romania.
Hi Melissa, great to have you with us today!
It is wonderful to be here, Mr. Smith
Melissa, you’ve said you really have a heart for Romania. How did you first become interested in that country?
I actually became interested through this Home School Heartbeat program. My mom receives the email transcripts and, knowing that I already have a heart for orphans, she sent me the one that focused on the Romania Reborn organization, which just really helped me become interested in that culture.
So how did you find a way to put this interest into action during your high school days?
Well, some friends of ours, of the family, led short term missions trips, and I was able to work to find a way to go with them on three different medical missions trips to Romania where we were able to hold clinics in different parts of the country, do door to door evangelism, and just really help the national Christians there have more of an opportunity to minister to their community.
What a terrific way to minister to the less fortunate and also spread the word of God around the world. Thanks for sharing with us, Melissa! And until next time, I’m Mike Smith.
