When was the last time you saw dinosaurs roaming the earth? If you can’t answer this question, it might be time for a field trip! Ken Ham joins host Mike Smith on today’s Home School Heartbeat with some fun teaching suggestions centered around the Creation Museum.

Mike Smith:
My guest this week, Ken Ham, is the founder and president of Answers in Genesis, and he’s the visionary behind what could be a tremendous homeschool field trip—the Creation Museum, near Cincinnati, Ohio. Ken, tell us a little about the Creation Museum, and about how homeschoolers could use it as a teaching tool.

Ken Ham:
Well, you know, we’ve had hundreds of thousands of homeschool families visit our Creation Museum since we opened four years ago. And because the museum is located within a day’s drive of almost two thirds of the U.S. population, it is a convenient location. Plus, homeschooling, of course, is huge in the Midwest.

But the Creation Museum is a fun place for families. It’s “edu-tainment”—and by that I mean our mean, our museum visitors are learning about the accuracy of the Bible’s history starting from Genesis, and they’re doing so in a fun and interactive way. We have animatronic dinosaurs, animatronic people there throughout the museum, and they help our visitors understand the true history of the world. We have a special effects theater and a high-tech planetarium. In fact, even small children enjoy the creation museum. We have many children’s events and workshops. And non-Christians are presented with the gospel. And basically the message is: the history in the Bible is true, that’s why the gospel based in that history is true.

Well, we’re near Cincinnati, so we hope your listeners are going to visit and take their walk through the Bible and really experience Biblical history in a unique way.

Mike:
Ken, this is terrific! We really appreciate your ministry, and I know you’ve impacted the lives of many of our listeners! Thanks so much for joining us this week! And until next time, I’m Mike Smith.
