Mike Smith:
This week, Zan Tyler joins me. Zan is an author, speaker, and veteran homeschool mom. Zan, welcome to the program!
Zan Tyler:
Thank you, Mike!
Mike:
Zan, most of us know that the word of God is supposed to impact our daily lives. But sometimes, there’s a gap between knowledge and practical experience. How does God being the author of His word change the way life looks for a normal homeschool mom?
Zan:
You know Mike, one of my favorite parts of speaking at home schooling conferences is the opportunity to interact with the moms after the speaking is over. At one particular conference, there was a huge line of people and this one woman had a lot of questions, so I asked her to wait until the end and we could talk, and she said she didn’t have time. So I said as sweetly as I could, “That’s why I wrote my book—so you would have the answers to your questions.” And it was like the Lord said to me, “And Zan that’s why I wrote my book, and you haven’t been spending enough time with me lately.”
And so from that point on, I’ve been devoted to a read-through-the-Bible-in-a-year program. And I would encourage our listeners to do the same, to make the Word of God a priority. Take your kids to conferences like Walk through the Bible, and this year, make it a goal to spend daily time together in God’s Word.
Mike:
Zan, what you share is so true! Thanks for that reminder. And until next time, I’m Mike Smith.
