Mike Farris: Our guest today is Lila Rose, who’s the founder and president of LiveAction. Lila, welcome to the program.
Thanks for having me on, Mike.
Lila, you are a recent college grad, but you founded your pro-life organization, called LiveAction, when you were only 15. What gave you the vision and confidence to do something at such a young age?
Well, first off, I was raised in a wonderful Christian family, one of eight children. We were homeschooled. And I found out about abortion when I was 9 years old by reading a book about it at my house—homeschool families have lots of books—and I was so shocked and horrified by the idea that in my own community, unborn children were in danger of abortion. So I began to pray and I began to research more and I dedicated my life as a young teen to do what I could to end abortion and to build the culture of life.
Lila, you’ve done an amazing thing to build the culture of life. I’ve told you in person, I was in a meeting with the top leadership in the House of Representatives this year, and you were the central subject of the discussion because of your effective work against Planned Parenthood. I’m just really looking forward to exploring that with you during this set of episodes. And so I just want to tell you, you are the marquee kid for the homeschooling movement right now. Thanks, Lila, for doing such a great job.
Well, any way I can serve, I’m happy to be a part of this movement.
Well, thanks so much. I’m Mike Farris.
