Mike Smith:
This week our guest is Dr. Russell Moore. Dr. Moore is a father, the dean of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and author of several books, including Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches. Dr. Moore, thanks for being with us today.
Dr. Russell Moore:
It’s good to be with you, Mike.
Mike:
Dr. Moore, how did adoption become a topic so important to you that you wrote a book about it?
Dr. Moore:
Well, it’s because I was very reluctant to adopt. My wife and I’d been through several years of infertility and miscarriages and, when the Lord started to lead her toward adopting, I was reluctant to do it! It seemed like a Plan B to me, and the Lord changed my heart and changed my mind. And it was one of the best things that ever happened to me and to our family and to our understanding of the gospel. And it gave me a passion to see other families see what God has done for us in adopting us in Christ.
Mike:
Dr. Moore, thanks for sharing your story with us and listeners, tune in this week to hear more of Dr. Moore’s perspective on adoption. And until then, I’m Mike Smith.
