As we teach our children the principles of our Founding Fathers, we must remind them of the importance of religious freedom. Join Mike Farris as he speaks to guest Brad O’Leary on how we can teach our children to preserve these freedoms today on Home School Heartbeat.
Mike Farris:
Brad, I want to thank you again for joining us on our program this week. And as a parting question: what can homeschoolers do to raise up the coming generation in order to value and preserve religious freedom for everybody?
Brad O’Leary:
Well, I think the most important thing we should value and lift up, and this is a good week for it, is freedom of speech. It’s what made our country great, and what will continue to make our country great. But unfortunately 70% of public universities maintain unconstitutional speech codes, and we have to fight against speech codes no matter where we find them.
Mike:
You’re absolutely right. Those speech codes are being used to drown out mainly conservative voices. Because there’s an orthodoxy on those campuses, and they don’t want to hear from people like you and me.
