If you’d like to learn more about how religious liberty is being threatened today, and what you can do to preserve it, check out Brad O’Leary’s book, America’s War on Christianity. Follow the link to order your copy today.

Many people think of religion as restrictive—but today on Home School Heartbeat, author Brad O’Leary argues that religion in society actually fosters freedom. Learn more as he joins our host, Mike Farris.

Mike Farris:
Not all homeschoolers educate for religious reasons—but most really care passionately about having the freedom to raise their children as they see best. Brad, based on your research, why should all homeschoolers—not just religious conservatives—care about preserving religious freedom?

Brad O’Leary:
Well, actually, if you believe that God, who gave us life, also gave us liberty, then you have to understand that all these attacks against homeschooling are attacks against letting people have firm beliefs in liberty and God and justice instead of just drifting out there not having any beliefs in what’s right and what’s wrong. And if we grow up in a society with no right and no wrong, or if I’d left to everybody to decide, then we grow up in a society that will be filled with pain and suffering.

Mike:
Brad, right and wrong are so fundamental to our legal and political system; I’m glad you made that emphasis. I’m Mike Farris.
