Do you ever get so busy homeschooling that you forget to just be a parent? Today on Home School Heartbeat, author Denise Mira talks with host Mike Smith about how she navigates both roles as a homeschooling mom. Mike Smith: Denise Mira: And for us, homeschooling isn’t just an academic option—it’s a life style of building Kingdom culture in our home. God is a family man: a Father who sent a Son to build a family in the earth. So I believe that homeschooling is so much about family life—living as a team, all for one, one for all. Learning to serve each other, loving one another, working together—on everything from math, to reading, to household chores, to comforting the hurting, to serving the neighbors. Enduring our personality differences, working through conflict, iron sharpening iron. We are a special forces operative unit in the earth, making a difference together, having a synergetic impact in the world, as we walk together in life. So, obviously, I don’t have a problem integrating family life with home education. This is our life! Mike: |
