Jeannie Fulbright, author of Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology curriculum is with us again today. Jeannie, how does worldview impact anatomy? Isn’t a muscle just a muscle?
Jeannie Fulbright:
Well, that’s a great question, Mike, because it gets to the heart of what the Apologia anatomy curriculum is all about. My heart in teaching these courses and writing these courses, is to build the faith of the parents and the children as they explore science. Just as if you were studying a Rembrandt painting: you wouldn’t study a series of paintings and explore the meanings of the paintings and the techniques he used, without talking about who the author of the Rembrandt is.
You would, in the same way, it’s important that children, when they’re learning about science, to be continually reminded, that God is the author of all of science. He is the one who created every scientific truth. Every discovery we discover, is this—a discovery about God, something God did and created. Every fascinating fact is God’s. So it is important that we give credit to the Creator while we’re teaching science, and we glorify God, as we learn about His creation.
