Cathy Duffy:
Well, the process of choosing curriculum can be so overwhelming that I’ve really worked at trying to make it easier for parents over the years. First, I wrote 100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum, and I narrowed the choices down to the best products, and walked readers through steps to determine which products were most likely to fit each child.
But more recently, I’ve worked on a new project to make it even easier. It’s called Home Ed Expert.com, and this website uses ideas similar to those in my book: asking questions to help you determine both parents’ and children’s learning styles and approaches to education. And it goes even further, taking into account how much time you have available for lesson preparation and teaching, religious and political preferences, and even things like the style of handwriting or grammar instruction you might want to use. The program will make specific recommendations from the information you enter.
