Will the liberal elite succeed in using international law to ban homeschooling? Today on Home School Heartbeat, host Mike Farris names three actions we must take to protect our parental right to religious education.

Mike Farris:
In response to the threat against homeschooling, first, we must fortify the team that won the initial battles for homeschooling rights. God gets all the glory for that victory, but we also need to recognize that He used a team to bring it about. I want to encourage every homeschooling family to be members of both HSLDA and their state organizations. That was the team that helped to win the victory in the first place, and it’s the team that needs to be strong today.

Second: we must pass the Parental Rights Amendment. In another 20 years, it’s just going to be too late.

Let me be clear: persecution is on the way. It’s been written in the law reviews today; it’s going to be in the courtrooms tomorrow.

Thirdly, and most importantly: God is our protector, and we must never, ever, ever give up.

My favorite Scripture about those facing injustice is the parable of the persistent widow, in Luke 18. It says: “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them . . . they should always pray and [never] give up.”

The widow got justice.

Homeschoolers have been victorious in the past, and we can show the Body of Christ how to respond to the days that are coming. And we can lead confidently, not because we are huge in numbers or mighty in our own strength—because “greater is He that is in [us], than he that is in the world.” We need to pray, and never give up.
