Do you have a high schooler who’s ready for a challenge? Join Mike Farris today on Home School Heartbeat to hear how other homeschooled teens have described their experience with AP courses through Patrick Henry College Preparatory Academy. Mike Farris: One student took the AP English Literature and Composition course, said, “This course has been amazing. It’s my first online class, and I admit that I entered into it with some apprehension. I’ll just say that it’s been wonderful. Our assignments are definitely demanding, but not overwhelming. Our classroom teacher is very diligent in helping us and answering our questions. It’s been very neat getting to interact with some of the other students, and discuss the literature we’re reading from different perspectives. I’m really thankful that we’re able to look at and discuss these pieces of literature from a biblical perspective.” From a student taking the AP Calculus course: “I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this class. Honestly, I didn’t expect to enjoy it. I love how the other kids are always willing to post homework to help those of us who don’t get it, or who don’t have hours to spare to muddle through it on our own. I’m especially thankful for the classroom teacher—she does a fantastic job of managing the classroom.” These courses are a great opportunity. I’m Mike Farris. |
