Election season is coming up. But why is there so much talk about it? Is all this focus on politics really necessary? Hundreds of homeschooled teenagers say, “Yes!” Join host Mike Farris and director of Generation Joshua Will Estrada on today’s Home School Heartbeat to find out why.
Mike Farris:
In the 2008 election season, Generation Joshua raised 1,000 volunteers to get out the vote. This year, their vision is 2,000 volunteers poised to make a difference in this November’s elections. Will, why is it crucial that 2,000 young patriots serve on Student Action Teams this fall?
Will Estrada:
Mike, it’s been said that the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. We at Generation Joshua believe that the next generation must get involved to make a difference in our nation. It’s not enough to complain and to whine. Young men and women need to take a stand for what’s right. Our Student Action Teams provide an opportunity for young people to put their beliefs into action, to work hard, and to help elect good men and women to Congress.
Mike:
How can our listeners become a part of this process?
Will:
We encourage our listeners to visit TheFutureOfAmerica.net. That’s the name of Generation Joshua’s 2010 midterm election campaign to help get good men and women elected to Congress. Sign up to work on a Student Action Team, volunteer, work on a local election in your community—but at least do something to help change the future of our country.
Mike:
Will, this sounds exciting. TheFutureofAmerica.net— that’s the website?
Will:
That’s it, Mike!
Mike:
Thanks! I’m Mike Farris.
