Klagholz Guidelines Still Causing Trouble

The East Brunswick Public Schools have sent letters to several home school families informing them that they must submit a proposed curriculum. However, New Jersey law does not give local boards of education authority to impose such a requirement.

Home School Legal Defense Association attorney Scott Woodruff has written to the school district on behalf of our member families, explaining that such demands do not have a proper legal foundation. Unfortunately, such bullying of home schoolers may continue until the New Jersey Department of Education explicitly rescinds the home schooling guidelines issued by former state education commissioner, Leo Klagholz.
