Baltimore County Threatens Privacy
The Baltimore County Public School system recently sent a letter to local home schooling families, telling them that the school system was preparing to publish information concerning the name, address, age, etc., of each child, unless the family objected in writing by a certain deadline.
Home School Legal Defense Association attorney Scott Woodruff wrote the school system and warned them that publishing such private information would be a violation of the rights of home school families unless each family gave specific, written permission for it to be published. The school system has not yet replied to this letter despite numerous requests. HSLDA urges members who learn of any publication or public release of such information to contact our office immediately.
