Fund Moves Forward

The Children’s Scholarship Fund (CSF), a privately-funded voucher initiative, recently held a press conference celebrating its first 100 days in operation. Chairman Ted Forstmann announced that CSF had raised 70 million dollars for K-8th grade scholarships and chosen 38 cities in which to distribute the funds. With the matching money provided by CSF, the fund will be able to give over 140 million dollars in educational scholarships to 35,000 students across the country. The People for the American Way, the American Federation of Teachers, and the National Education Association have all been critical of CSF, despite the fund’s broad support across the political spectrum.
Home schoolers living in CSF-designated cities are eligible to apply for the scholarship funds. For more information about this opportunity, contact the National Center.
