Driver’s License Legislation Passes

House Bill 1300 has been passed by the Arkansas General Assembly and was signed by Governor Jim Guy Tucker on April 9, 1993. This legislation permits home-schooled students to receive a temporary driver’s license if they become eligible for the license before annual achievement tests for the school year are administered. The new law benefits students enrolled in home schools who would otherwise have to wait until satisfactory test results are obtained later in the year.
