New Law Eliminates Degree Requirement

This past year a bill was introduced in the New Mexico legislature amending the current home school law. Senate Bill 202 struck the requirement for the parent-teacher to possess “at least a baccalaureate degree” and in its place requires the parent to have “a high school diploma or its equivalent.” The bill has been signed into law by the Governor.

This is a dramatic improvement in New Mexico’s home school law.
