Encouraging Words

I have multiple sclerosis and have been very thankful we haven’t had any problems because of the stress it could create. It takes everything I’ve got to do just the schooling each day. I’m slowly now coming out of a spell that took my sight, hearing and balance to a great degree. School never runs quite as smoothly during those months and I do pray it would never be used against us home schooling. But God is faithful and makes no mistakes. He has blessed us richly. Our eldest son is in first year university getting extremely high marks and desiring to serve his Lord with all his being.

Let me share with you a portion of one of his letters home. He said, “How are you feeling, mom? I hope that the schooling isn’t bringing you down. Since I’ve been here I have done quite a bit of thinking on home schooling. I'm convinced that home schooling is the best education possible. The transition to university is not a huge adjustment and even socially I think we get along much better with people and with the rules. I’ve got some good friends who were home schooled and they don’t have any problem getting along with other people. I think one of the best reasons for home schooling is the fact that, because we weren’t exposed to wrong music, friends, etc. we don’t have as much problem with the rules. So I hope that is an encouragement to keep going no matter what the world says.” Nate is taking a five year mission aviation program at Bob Jones University.
