Blessed by Homeschooling

Our family began homeschooling in the fall of 2009. For the past three years, I had taught at a Christian school that our children, ages 10 and 6, had attended since preschool. There was a cut in August, and three weeks prior to school starting, I lost all three positions I held. My husband and I discussed options: I could get a part-time job, but I was not likely to find something that would fit the schedule of a half-day kindergartner; I could work full-time, but our family would not benefit from after-school care. When I suggested I could always homeschool, my husband said, “I think you should!”

“What do you mean?!” My chin hit the floor. But we have been blessed over and over again by our decision to homeschool! It is definitely what’s right for our family now.

HSLDA, thank you for all of your support, encouragement, and opportunities, and all that you do for homeschooling families. We have been blessed just by being members.
