Savings and Tips for Members!

We know many of you are planning to do some traveling this summer. And if you’re like most homeschoolers, you have a strong interest in good deals that help you wisely steward your hard-earned money.

Earn discounts with HSLDA.

Our recommendation: check out the resources offered on our website.

For example, one of our PerX program partners, Choice Hotels, offers great discounts at Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality Inn, Clarion, Rodeway Inn, and more. HSLDA members receive a 20% discount—better than AAA’s! One HSLDA member wrote,

Because of the great discount, my wife and I are taking a two-night vacation at a nice hotel in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. Without the discount, it would have only been a one-night stay. Thanks so much!
—John R., Etters, PA

To help collect a little cash for the trip, you might want to consider selling some of last year’s books at the HSLDA Curriculum Market. Anyone can sell, but only HSLDA members can make purchases. To encourage great prices, HSLDA doesn’t take any of the money—all of the sales and savings go to those who buy and sell.

I love the ease of use and variety of options available at the Curriculum Market. I have had good success finding items I needed and selling books we are no longer using. Fellow homeschoolers are honest and quick in their sales. A great addition to the services HSLDA offers, the market is my first stop for curriculum shopping!
—Cheryl T., Hamilton, VA

And looking a little further down the road, as you’re heading into another school year, you may want to refresh your memory regarding what your state requires for homeschooling. If there have been any slight changes in the laws, we have made those changes to our law summaries. Of course, our staff is available to answer any other questions you might have about this. So please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 540-338-5600.

Have a great summer ... and happy trails to you!
