NEVADA

Headline

Nevada is unique among the states in that it prohibits public school districts from discriminating against homeschooled students and specifically requires public schools to accept homeschool transfer credits when certain conditions are met. A new memorandum, written by Home School Legal Defense Association Senior Counsel Christopher Klicka, explains school districts’ obligations under this portion of the law and may be helpful for families interacting with Nevada public school officials.

To read it, visit www.hslda.org, log into the members’ section, click on In Your State, select the state of Nevada on the map, and then click on Nevada Forms and Other Resources. Choose the Memorandum on Transfer of Homeschool Credits to Public School.
