More Benefits of Membership
Safe Eyes is the latest vendor to be added to our list of products available at great prices for HSLDA members. Their 5.0 release, the latest edition of internet parental control software from InternetSafety.com, has earned a 2008 Parents’ Choice Approved award from the Parents’ Choice Foundation.
Safe Eyes 5.0 is a comprehensive program that enables parents to easily block objectionable websites, control internet use by length of time as well as time of day and day of the week, block or record instant messenger chats, and block peer-to-peer file sharing programs that may expose children to dangerous material. It also allows parents to limit email use to certain addresses and receive alerts when children post inappropriate or personal information on social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook. It’s also unique in that it can be used in mixed Mac/PC households.
For HSLDA members, a single $34.95 annual subscription covers up to five computers with the ability to customize settings for each child and enforce them on any machine. (A regular subscription runs $49.95 and covers only three computers,
so two subscriptions would be needed to cover five computers.) Go to www.hslda.org/SafeEyes to take advantage of this exclusive offer.
Additions to GPA Smartstore
We are pleased to let you know that the GPA Smartstore is now offering products from BJU Press, one of the leading providers of homeschool materials in the country.
You can check them out at www.hslda.org/smartstore4. GPA now carries over 7,000 products for homeschoolers, and many of our members are enjoying substantial savings.
Cross-curricular Family Fun
Home School Legal Defense Association members may receive a $5 discount per family member at the Creation Museum by presenting their HSLDA membership cards at the admissions ticket window. Complete with exhibits, theater presentations, anima-tronics, a planetarium, gardens, and petting zoo, the museum gives
its guests a “walk through history” from a biblical perspective, allowing
a deeper understanding of today’s world by examining the past. Whether you visit the museum during a vacation, or as a cross-curricular homeschool field trip, don’t forget
to present your HSLDA membership card at the ticket window to receive your $5
discount. Visit the PerX page on our website for more details: www.hslda.org/MuseumDiscount.
