Pray for homeschooling families whose schedules were halted, homes and curricula destroyed, and jobs affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Ask that the ongoing relief efforts within the homeschooling community would provide the support these families need to rebuild their lives, and that God would surround them with His loving care (cover story, pages 6–11 & 42–43).

Thank the Lord that homeschooling’s effectiveness is being demonstrated not only by studies and test scores, but also by the lives of homeschooled students, whose mature, respectful demeanor has won approval even from those who are skeptical of home education. (See “Persuaded to Homeschool,” page 27.)

Praise God for granting homeschoolers around the nation success in passing favorable legislation, defeating harmful bills, and addressing social services investigations based on anonymous tips. (See Across the States, pages 13–26.)

Lift up our active and pending cases (page 30).

Remember the Home School Foundation’s support of families in post-communist Europe. Pray that God would strengthen and encourage these new homeschoolers as they boldly choose to teach their own children at home (page 12).

Uphold Patrick Henry College’s capital campaign to fund construction of a new student center and to further solidify the college’s long-term financial base, so that it can continue offering challenging academics and hands-on apprenticeship training to a growing student body. (See About Campus, page 44.)

Intercede for parents just beginning to homeschool or struggling with discouragement in the middle of the school year, and for the veteran homeschoolers and support groups coming alongside to help them.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

—Philippians 4:6–7
