  PRAYER & PRAISE

»

Pray that the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals would uphold the Fitzgerald family's right to direct their children's education. Ask that school districts across the country would correctly interpret and apply IDEA's Child Find provision (cover story).

Remember the homeschooling families whose lives have been disrupted by devastating hurricanes this year. Continue to seek the Lord's blessing on HSF's hurricane relief efforts.

Thank the Lord for blessing the National Center for Home Education's amendments to the Department of Education IDEA regulations, which will provide stronger protection for families homeschooling special needs children. (See Freedom Watch.)

Uphold homeschooling families who face social services investigations simply because of false anonymous tips. Pray that God would enable these parents and their HSLDA attorneys to respond wisely and graciously to government officials while standing on their constitutional rights (Social Services Q&A).

Praise God for protecting the homeschool movement and pray for HSLDA as we work to resolve unfounded truancy charges, defeat harmful legislation, and pass bills that increase homeschool freedom. (See Across the States.)

Lift up HSLDA's litigation department as they work on our active and pending cases.

Pray for the students, faculty, and staff of Patrick Henry College who are approaching final exams and holiday travel (About Campus).

Lift up weary homeschooling families. Pray that the Lord would renew their motivation to homeschool and restore their vision, even in the midst of difficult circumstances, tight finances, and busy schedules.

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

—Psalm 34:17
