WYOMING

Children and Families Initiative continues

Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal has made children's issues a central theme of his administration. Not too surprisingly, he seems to follow the "it takes a village" model. This creates both a challenge and an opportunity for homeschoolers. The Children and Families Initiative is drawing attention to the fact that Wyoming leads the nation in suicide and divorce. As citizens who want the best for Wyoming, homeschoolers can point towards faith-based and community-based answers that go to the heart of the problem in a way that no secular government program can.

If homeschoolers are not actively involved in identifying deeper solutions, politicians will likely take your tax dollars to provide politically correct solutions to these tragic problems. Wyoming needs stronger families, churches, and communities more than it needs new government programs.

Home School Legal Defense Association will be contacting Wyoming members periodically as the Children and Families Initiative continues. Please be prepared to call your elected representatives in order to keep Wyoming family friendly.
