PHC juniors receive FDD fellowships
Two Patrick Henry College juniors, Benjamin Mills and Kyle Murray, were selected to participate
in the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD) Undergraduate Fellowship this summer. The program is designed to teach students about terrorist threats directed at America and allied democracies around the world. Both Mills and Murray are majoring in government.
Only 35 students nationwide were selected to take part in the program. The year-long fellowship began with a 14-day trip to Israel in August, where the students stayed at Tel Aviv University and heard presentations from military, intelligence, and political officials, as well as academic experts and the ambassadors of India, Jordan, Turkey, and the United States. Mills, Murray, and the other FDD Fellows also visited military bases and border positions to better understand how democratic states fight terrorism.
