"We have a great team running Generation Joshua," says HSLDA President Mike Smith. "I am excited about the impact this program will have on the future of our nation and the opportunity to work with homeschooling families to launch the leaders of tomorrow.
"HSLDA's Generation Joshua draws on substantial expertise: Mike Farris, Tom Washburne, Ned Ryun, and Caleb Kershner provide the backbone of Generation Joshua."
Mike Farris, HSLDA's chairman of the board, has engaged in numerous political battles across the nation and was himself a candidate for lieutenant governor of Virginia in 1993. Tom Washburne formerly served as counsel and chief of staff to a congressman for over six years. Ned Ryun, homeschool graduate and son of Congressman Jim Ryun, has served on the White House Staff and actively engaged in federal campaigns for the last decade. Caleb Kershner previously managed HSLDA's grassroots lobbying outreach, the Congressional Action Program (CAP). Patrick Henry College, launched by the HSLDA board in 1998, has an outstanding faculty and students who will serve as a valuable resource for developing civics materials.
