One form to rule them all

A Home School Legal Defense Association member family recently moved into the Nebo School District. In compliance with the law, they filed a "Home School Exemption" letter. However, the district was not satisfied with their letter and demanded that they use a form developed by the district. This form required that the family submit information that is not required by state law.

HSLDA sent the family a form we have developed for use, which members can download from our website at We also informed the Nebo School District that nothing in state law allows a district to mandate that families use one particular form.

If you are contacted by school officials requiring that you use their form, please get in touch with HSLDA so that we can assist you. - Darren A. Jones
