Special needs conference declined

A Valparaiso-area Home School Legal Defense Association member recently received a letter offering a conference with school officials

". . . to develop, review, and/or revise an individualized education program for your child in agreement with the guidelines set forth by the State of Indiana." Home school families with children who have special needs are not obliged to meet with public school officials.

Because this member family did not wish to obtain any special needs services from the public school system, HSLDA communicated with the local director of special education and declined the offer of a conference.
