School Authorities Make Unlawful Demands
Home School Legal Defense Association member families in the Calhoun and Berrien Intermediate School Districts were told that they must complete a “Home School Report” form. The school districts indicated that the families must “provide a brief description of the organized educational program, such as daily subject taught, daily instruction schedule, number of days scheduled to provide instruction to each child.”
This demand exceeds the law. HSLDA informed the school districts that our member families would not return the form nor were they were required to do so. Apparently, this form is circulating in other school districts as well. We urge HSLDA members to contact our office if they receive the form. — Christopher J. Klicka
