And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:27-28 (NIV)

Pray for swift completion of the PHC student residence halls.

Special Prayer Request Please pray for fellow home schooling families across the country who are grieving the loss of a loved one or recovering after a serious accident. HSLDA does not usually print individual prayer requests in the Court Report due to space limitations. However, we have made an exception in this issue. Here are two examples of the many prayer requests we have received this summer regarding similar situations.

Please lift up these HSLDA member families who were in serious automobile accidents this summer.

  • Martha Whiting was paralyzed from the waist down and her daughter Tirzah's arm was broken. Her husband Bruce and two other children are helping Mom as best they can while she goes through therapy.
  • Taylor and Mary Ann Odom, four of their six children, an exchange student who lived with them, and a truck driver were killed when the truck blew a tire and struck the family's suburban head on. Surviving siblings Able, 16, and Kaitlin Odom, 8, are now living with their grandparents in another state.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all Understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
