Raise Denied to Home School Grad

An Eau Claire-area employer denied a raise to a home school graduate because the employer would not accept the diploma issued by the parents. Home School Legal Defense Association wrote the employer, explaining that a parent-issued diploma is legally equivalent to any other diploma and urging the employer to grant the raise. We hope this employer will soon acknowledge what Wisconsin law has already acknowledged: a home-based education is no less acceptable than any other form of education. — Scott A. Woodruff
