In March 2000, a home schooling father’s generosity and vision sparked the beginning of a special ministry—the Widows Curriculum Scholarship Fund. Since then, Home School Legal Defense Foundation (HSLDF) has helped over 100 widows in need with funds for books and other teaching materials.
The response from Home School Legal Defense Association members and non-members alike has been warm and overflowing—even children have sent donations from their savings.
Any home schooling mother who has lost a husband to death and has not remarried may apply for this scholarship.

HSLDA is assuming the administrative costs. Therefore, 100 percent of every gift goes to the widows and their children.
