A Good Bill Triumphs

Home School Legal Defense Association closely watched Senate Bill 186, which proposed many educational reforms, including allowing home schoolers to file their assessments and annual notices in any district, rather than their district of residence only. Threats to amend S.B. 186 to restrict home school freedom did not materialize. It passed the senate and the house, and on April 3 was sent to Colorado Governor Bill Owens for his signature. The Governor strongly supported the bill and signed it on April 10. — Scott A. Woodruff
