Parental Rights Constitutional Amendment Fails

Senate Concurrent Resolution 503 authorizing the voters of Mississippi to amend the state constitution adding a parental rights amendment has died in legislative committee. Sponsored by Senator Graham, the constitutional amendment would have provided that the right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children shall not be infringed.
