NEW HAMPSHIRE

Proposed Legislation Cracks Down on Child Abuse Industry

New Hampshire has once again proved itself the "Live Free or Die" state, this time by advancing some of the best child abuse reform legislation in America. State Senator David Wheeler, chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, has drafted a bill which would give more protection to New Hampshire families than is enjoyed by any other state in the nation. Under Senator Wheeler's bill, false and malicious accusations of child abuse would become a criminal offense. Each family accused of abuse or neglect would have the right to know the identity of the accuser (with limited exceptions) and would get a copy of the actual allegations.
