Contests for Homeschoolers
Every year, HSLDA offers 4 seasonal contests, open to all homeschooled students ages 7–19. The academic year kicks off with an Essay Contest, followed by Art in winter, Poetry in spring, and Photography in summer. Guidelines are posted in the box to the right 1 month before a contest opens.
The power to communicate is the power to effect change. Artwork, poetry, photography, and essay writing represent powerful tools of visual and verbal communication. Through its contests, HSLDA hopes to offer homeschooled students the opportunity to hone their skills in a fun and creative setting that invites them to think outside the box and be rewarded for excellence.

Attention, Parents and Teachers!
Even if your children do not submit their entries, we encourage you to take advantage of the theme prompts for creative projects in your own home school.
