This bill would create virtual charter schools in Mississippi.
This type of legislation drives families out of homeschooling into state-controlled education. Also, the virtual private school model reduces the parent-child time together in the education process, thereby undermining traditional homeschooling that has been so successful. Academic achievement in virtual charter schools has been shown to be lower than in regular public schools. This bill should be opposed.
