Senate Bill 2244: Grants School Officials Immunity from Civil or Criminal Liability

Summary:

This bill would grant school attendance officers, school superintendents, and other school officials immunity from any liability, civil or criminal, otherwise arising out of their actions in enforcing the compulsory attendance law.

HSLDA's Position:

HSLDA believes that granting such immunity would be bad public policy and might lead to abuse of power by state officials. This bill should be opposed.
