This bill mandates that students take and pass a state-developed exam in order to graduate from high school, enter a state college, or get state financial aid. As currently worded, homeschoolers who did not take the exam could be forbidden from graduation, or entering a state college, or getting state financial aid. We are working on getting an amendment so the exit exam would apply only to public school students.
03/09/2011 (House) Introduced, placed on calendar.
04/01/2011 (House) Referred back to Education
This bill did not exit the House before the session ended, and is now dead.
