House File 297: Enhanced Grandparent Visitation
Sponsors:
Rep. Soderberg
Summary:

This law would dramatically expand the range of circumstances under which grandparents or great-grandparents could petition a court to grant them visitation rights for a minor child.

Current law requires the parent of the minor child that is the child of the grandparent or great-grandparent to be deceased before a court can grant visitation rights; this bill would remove that requirement.

Current law generally limits the frequency of petitions for visitation to once every two years; this bill would remove this requirement as well.
