House Bill 3164: Conditions the Issuance of Driver's License on School Enrollment

Summary:

This bill would prohibit the issuance or reinstatement of a beginner's permit, conditional driver's license, special restricted driver's license, or a regular driver's license to any person under 18 unless the person is enrolled in school or a GED program or has graduated from high school or has a GED.

HSLDA's Position:

HSLDA opposes school attendance as a condition to obtaining a driver's license. This bill should be opposed.
