This bill would remove the requirement that attendance officers provide three days’ written notice to parents before bringing truancy charges against them.
HSLDA's Position:
HSLDA believes that parents should continue to receive a warning before being charged with truancy, so that they may have the opportunity to resolve any dispute before going to court. This bill should be opposed.
