House Bill 2649: Changes HOPE Scholarship Requirements
Sponsors:
Representative Harry Brooks
Summary:

This is a companion bill to Senate Bill 2514. Current law permits homeschool graduates to be eligible for a HOPE scholarship if they score the same as public school graduates on college admission tests, i.e., a 21 on the ACT and 980 on the SAT. These bills would require homeschool graduates to score at least 23 on the ACT and 1070 on the SAT in order to be eligible for the scholarship beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. There is no justification for this blatant discrimination against homeschoolers.
