This bill would increase the compulsory school attendance age from 17 to 18. And if the student turns 18 during the school year, he would be required to complete the school year. A child who was 17 or 18 would be permitted to withdraw from school with a parent's permission.
HSLDA opposes any expansion of state control over education. This bill should be opposed.
