House Bill 203: Requires Proof of U.S. Citizenship

This bill would require that upon the initial enrollment of all students in Alabama, including those in church schools and private tutor programs, the custodian of the child must provide the local public school superintendent with a birth certificate or other documentation proving that the child is a U.S. citizen. Failure to do so would result in a referral to law enforcement for investigation.
