I can’t believe how quickly the weeks and months are flying by. My family and I actually have an invitation to a home school graduation ceremony this Month! Apparently, the 2012-13 school year is rapidly coming to a close. For many of you, standardized testing will be a part of your end of the year activities, and realizing how stressful the idea of testing can be; I thought I would direct you to a great article that Betty Statnick wrote a few years ago. It’s called, Testing: Scores and S’Mores. In it, she gives tutorials on- how standardized tests are developed and on reading test scores. She also talks about ways to help your child do his or her best on testing days. As a bonus, she takes time to explain creating a portfolio (for those of you who can use that type of assessment as an alternative to standardized testing.) I hope you’ll follow the link and check out the advice and wisdom Betty has to offer.
If you have ‘tips about testing’, please leave a comment. There may be someone reading today who could really benefit from your lessons learned.
Blessings on you and yours~
