Nutrition Talk Tonight, March 21st @ 8:00 p.m.

MaryAnn Gaver

Please join me tonight as we talk about the link between nutrition and health. At 8:00 p.m., I team up with Dr. Belinda Roettger...

Have you ever thought about how you work to take care of everyone in your family and often forget to take care of yourself?

One of the reasons I look forward to tonight is because I need some definite help in nutrition!

No kidding -- I hate to admit it, but when the twins were little... at lunch (I can't believe I'm telling you this!) -- instead of making myself a nice sandwich or something -- I used to eat their left- over, mangled-up, tangled-up peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!

And,  I still struggle with --- ahh! --- (okay, don't tell anyone!)  the raw chocolate-chip cookie batter thing..

Dr. Roettger - is this normal?  Am I the only one who struggles with this?

Moms - you and I will learn together!!

I met Belinda a few years back at the Cornerstone co-op in Woodbine, MD.  In the high school years, we opted for a couple of outside classes in order to cover the more advanced levels of English and Science.

At Cornerstone, we had a 9:00 a.m. Mom's Prayer Circle. Some of the moms met in the upstairs sanctuary or the little church nursery, pulled a few chairs into a circle, and prayed.  That's when I met Belinda.

Once, when we got ready to pray, I alerted everyone that I was getting ready to pass out! I had a tendency to eat a sweet breakfast, and it always left me feeling horrible a few hours later.  Thankfully, a friend came to the rescue with a hard-boiled egg and wheat bread!

We're all learning and growing.  It's all about small, positive steps.

Most of all, tonight you'll gain hope and insight on how to take care of yourself -- and will learn new strategies as you nurture your family.

I hope you'll join us!  See you tonight at eight!
